HISTORY AND ARCHITECTURE
Cal Batlle de La Cortinada is one of the rare buildings of the XV Century in Andorra.
The building was restored between 2013-2014 and is more than 500 years old.
It’s a special building, an example of the vernacular Andorran architecture and is included in the Cultural Heritage Inventory of Andorra.
The house retains some original features such as the “seats of love” in the Estanyó room, one of the oldest elements of the house, and the original wood fire oven (the same structure can be seen at the “Casa de la Vall”.
Despite the contemporary restoration, the character and the authenticity have not been erased and the house continues to be an example of traditional Andorran architecture.
